Dog Food Tips For Preventing Fussy Eaters
There is much to recommend feeding your dog homemade dog food if you have the time to prepare it, and make sure you have recipes that give the correct ratio of nutrients, as well as the vitamins and supplements you'll need to add. These can be mixed up in a bag, stored, and sprinkled in every meal.
Dogs should have a minimum of 18% protein for maintenance when they are adults, and 22% for reproduction and growth. Fat should be a minimum of 5% for adult dogs, and 8% for reproduction and growth. But the more fat that is in the diet, the more protein there should be. Fat makes dogs, as well as people, eat less by making them feel fuller. If they eat less, and there are less of other essential nutrients like protein and vitamins and minerals, the dog will not get the nourishment it needs.
Generally, commercial pet food is made according to the appropriate guidelines, but care should be taken if significant amounts of other food is added to the diet, and it is high in fat.
But whether you're feeding your dog commercial dog food, or home made dog food, there are a few things to keep in mind so you don't end up with a fussy dog:
* dogs should be fed once a day once they are no longer puppies, or two small meals, no more. Feeding your dog too frequently when he is older can turn him appear like a fussy eater, when he is actually full.
* feeding your dog too regularly can get him into the routine of expecting to eat at those times, too, and may lead to weight gain. Letting him get hungry, and feeding sensibly, will not harm him. In the wild, dogs would eat for once a day until they were completely full.
* Don't stand and stare at your dog waiting for him to eat. He will likely think something is wrong, or something else is coming, and won't eat.
* Don't give into your dog and give him something else straight away if he refuses his meal, as he's effectively training you and not the other way around!
* There's nothing wrong with feeding your dog a varied diet, but don't keep changing the food because he seems fussy and won't eat it. Make sure nothing is wrong with him physically first, then if he is healthy, take charge of the situation. Put his food down, leave him to it, and then 30 minutes later go and check to see whether it's been eaten. If it hasn't, take it away, then at the end of the day put down some fresh food. Repeat the process, and take it away 30 minutes later if it still isn't eaten. This way you'll train your dog to eat his food, and not reinforce his behaviour.
Brian Kilcommons has a very interesting method for teaching dogs to eat their food. When the above fails, he prepared the dog food in front of the dog, making lots of 'yummy' noises whilst he did it. He made it slowly, and when the dog still wasn't interested, he put it down in front of his face, then took it straight away and threw it out. He did this first at breakfast, then at dinner. At dinner, the dog in question was more interested, but he still threw it out after putting it in front of him. The next morning, the dog was jumping up and down whilst the food was being prepared. He put it down, pulled it away, then looked at him for about a minute, then left it for him to eat.
That dog now eats anything put down for him.
* If your dog suddenly goes off his food, it could be because he has dental problems, or a stomach problem. Get him checked out by the vet.
* Some dogs do actually prefer a certain type of food, just as people do. Try your dog with a variety of foods, and if he only eats one type, and will starve himself if he doesn't get it, the best solution can simply be to feed him that type of food.
* Don't feed your dog a high fat diet, or junk food, including chocolate. It's not good for them.

10 Things Dogs Love to Eat
One of the top selling dog treats out there are Milk Bone brand, although you can find similar, off-brand products... f you are looking for new treats to offer your four-legged pal, read on, as we go over some of dogs’ favorites treats to eat...
Maybe you and your family are new to the world of proud and loving dog owners. Perhaps you have had dogs before or even your current dog for awhile now, but are looking for something different to offer them as a treat.
Maybe they do not like the treats you currently supply. Or, maybe you are just looking for a change. While it is never a great idea to change your dog’s actual food without good reason and proper preparation, the same does not hold true for doggy treats. If you are looking for new treats to offer your four-legged pal, read on, as we go over some of dogs’ favorites treats to eat.
From soft and hard, meat flavored and dental chews, there are all sorts of things we can feed our dogs, but what do they love to eat? A lot of this is determined by your particular dog—not necessarily the breed, but the individual dog will have its own likes and dislikes, just like they have there own personality. The determination of what kinds of things you dog loves to eat are also based in part on what you gave them as a puppy.
One of the top selling dog treats out there are Milk Bone brand, although you can find similar, off-brand products. They are a hard bone, usually all one color or sold in assortments of a variety of colors and flavors. You might try these and find that your dog only prefers certain flavors. Next, we can look at another type of hard chewing treat. The long lasting bones meant for a dog to chew on over time. Rawhide are perhaps the most common and least expensive, but they have been known to break apart and cause digestive issues once ingested. They also don’t last very long with medium or larger dogs. Try investing in a meat flavored bones. You could also try Nylabone style bones, but might be disappointed by the little bits that break off and always end up in your feet. Another chew treat would be pigs ears or cow hooves.
I have seen dogs who have never had one before go bananas just over the smell when you bring them into the house. The ears don’t last so long, but hooves usually last for at least several days. Nowadays, they have sprays and spreads with different flavors that you can put on a chew toy or another kind of treat for your dogs. These might be liver, peanut butter, or even cheese flavored—there are all sorts. Dogs will love to eat and lick at these sprays and spreads until it is all gone. For soft treats, consider the meat flavored ones—those that are shaped like hot dogs, sausages, or bacon. Most dogs will tear into these.
You will find some times that your dogs don’t like specific treats to eat, though. The larger pet stores and some online vendors have assortments you can buy to see what you dog likes best.

That To Know About Your Dog and His Food
Dog and His Food--Nutritious food for dogs is a part of dog supplies and you can find it in a pet store.,If you feed your dog extra food then he might end up having an upset stomach, diarrhea in severe cases, vomiting, constipation, and excess gas....
That To Know About Your Dog and His Food
Dog food should always be nutritious so that it can help strengthen his bones and immune system and help him to grow. There are many different types of dog food available at any of the stores specializing in dog supplies.
The first and foremost thing to understand about feeding dogs is that whenever you introduce a new variety of food you need to do it slowly so that your dog can get accustomed to it gradually. If you feed your dog extra food then he might end up having an upset stomach, diarrhea in severe cases, vomiting, constipation, and excess gas.
Dogs have a type of bacteria in their intestine that helps them to digest food. Any sudden changes in their food can bring different and definite changes in the type of bacteria and this might disrupt their ability to digest dog food and as a result upsets their intestine. Hence when you feed your dog a new food or a diet ensure that it is given to him on gradual basis. Let your dog grow fond of his food!
It is hence recommended that you should switch to any new food only over a gradual period of 7-10 days. For example: you can make a food mixture that will contain 75% of the old food and 25% of the new food and then you can feed the mixture to your dog for at least 3 days so that he can get used to it. After the initial 3 days, you can feed him a mixture having 50% old food and 50% new food for another 3 days and then finally make it a 25% old food and 75% new food ratio. Dogs will be more comfortable with this kind of a progression. Nutritious food for dogs is a part of dog supplies and you can find it in a pet store.
While buying dog supplies from a Pet food store, always check the label as it will contain important information. In order to find quality dog food, you need to look for the following:
1. Brand Name and Manufacturer:
One of the important facts to be considered is the reputation of a pet food manufacturer. Reputable dog food manufacturers will follow the high quality standards and other norms. The overall quality of dog food is based on the research and scientific experiments that have been conducted to get the particular quality of dog food.
2. Nutrient Guarantees:
There are certain nutrient guarantees that are required by all manufacturers and has to be displayed on the dog food label. This is that section of a label, which will offer a minimum guarantee for fat and protein as well as maximum guarantee for fiber and moisture.
3. Nutritional Adequacy Statement:
This is a statement that will tell you if the dog food product will offer a balanced and complete nutrition or not. It will also indicate if the dog food is for a particular life stage or can be taken by dogs of all ages.
Listing of Ingredients: Most of the ingredients in a particular dog food will be listed in the descending order according to weight. Ingredients will include some of the most important nutrients like protein, fat, vitamins as well as minerals.

Of chocolates and Pet Wormers
Chocolates and Pet Wormers--chocolate have this certain chemical properties that is fatal to dogs.**Dogs will always look longingly to whatever food you are eating and since you now know better,
One of my favorite shows in HBO is the Myth Busters. A group of scientists try to prove or disprove a lot of common beliefs that some of us accept us true. For example, remember this typical common movie scene wherein the hero swims underwater and the bad guys keep firing their weapon at the water? It usually shows that the bullets zoom in to the water and that the hero by some magical twist of luck that only Hollywood could formulate dodges all the bullets. Well, turns out that he does not need to dodge the bullets after all. Myth Busters have proven that bullets disintegrate into the water by four feet due to water pressure. They tried using high powered and high caliber guns and the results are still the same. The bullets just can’t penetrate below four feet. It is just physically impossible, so whenever some crazy guys come after you and tried shooting you when you are underwater, just swim deeper than four feet and you will be fine. Of course, if these baddies wait until you surface is another story.
Now you may wonder why I babbled about this. Well, it is because I am going to talk about two topics in pet care: chocolate and pet wormer. I remembered a certain topic I saw in Myth Busters and that is never feed your pet dog chocolates. Yes that thing you have read about chocolates being poisonous to your dog is true. According to Myth Busters, chocolate have this certain chemical properties that is fatal to dogs. So whenever you feel sympathetic to your dog because it looks longingly at you eating your favorite bar of chocolate, do not. Dogs will always look longingly to whatever food you are eating and since you now know better, this is a perfect situation where greed is good or else you will end up killing your dog. I repeat chocolates are bad for dogs. Keep the chocolates within the human race.
Now let us proceed to my second topic in pet care which is about pet wormer. Worms are found everywhere. And since dogs like to dig up soil, there is always a big chance that they are infected. If you are living in a tropical country, double these chances because tropical countries are breeding grounds of worms. Chances are if your dog or cat appears weak, it may have parasitic worms. Pet wormers are the obvious cure. Do not be a scrooge and go to the vet. Pet wormers will make your dog live longer and yes parasitic worms, in some cases, could actually kill your beloved pet. So better spend that few measly bucks on a pet wormer (Do not forget the fee of the vet) or else suffer the sight of your little kid crying over your dead pet. You choose what is important to you.
While we are on the topic of pet care, I will dispense my last piece of advice: please give your pet a regular bath. Nobody likes stinky pets you know.

The Best Medicine For Dogs With Arthritis
A medicine for arthritis in dogs? But for an unofficial official dog lover like you or a lover of pets in general, this is one of the most appropriate things to do to show love and concern for these animals and the Humane Society will surely nod its head in approval.....
Have you noticed lately how your dog is getting a little enthusiastic doing the normal things he do everyday? Have you observed how reluctant he is to catch that stick you just threw? If you're very particular about your dog's health, you might be hearing some clicks in his joints as he walks. You might have observed that he's jumping a little lower this time and he sometimes moan as if he's suffering from excruciating pain. If so, then, there's a chance your buddy is suffering from arthritis. But as a dog lover as you are, you will immediately find a solution for it and sure enough, there is and it's Arthogen for dogs.
Just like humans, arthritis in dogs can come in many different types, osteoarthritis as being the most common.
For some ordinary people, this might sound so odd, so bizarre, so "overkill". A medicine for arthritis in dogs? But for an unofficial official dog lover like you or a lover of pets in general, this is one of the most appropriate things to do to show love and concern for these animals and the Humane Society will surely nod its head in approval.
So, what is osteoarthritis in what causes it? According to experts especially those caring veterinarians, when the cartilage in joints that act as buffers between bones deteriorates, it can be very painful for the dog.
This is usually the result of an injury to a limb. Also, the common cause of this dog's predicament are usually diseases of hip and elbow dysphasia and other bone problems of large and fast-growing dogs but little ones are not exempted. But because dogs, even little ones, tend to be hyperactive and always on the go, in general, dogs can be hapless victims of arthritis and other bone-related diseases or ailments.
In the U.S. alone, an estimated 20% of the total population of dogs suffers from arthritis, big or small, young or old. Luckily for these poor animals, the Humane Society, veterinarians and other concerned groups are doing what they can do save these pets from health problems.
So, what is the best remedy for arthritis in dogs? As what have said earlier, Arthogen can be the best option to eradicate arthritis from your beloved buddy. Arthogen is formulated scientifically to combat arthritis. It contains a complete, nutritious and highly effective solution that provide the best and necessary mineral and nutrients needed by your pet and they come in many flavors that you dog will surely love. But, is it the only remedy for these poor fellas? Are there any other solutions for easing or totally getting rid of arthritis in dogs? Yes, there may be other remedies for it but the best so far is Arthogen and it's the best choice that you're going to have.
In conclusion, when you see that your dog is limping, running slowly, always moaning of pains in the limbs, you can either give him some first aid which you may learn in the future or if you want to give him the best in all the world, give him Arthogen for dogs and he will give you an approving "woof!" for it.

Dog Food - Healthy Is Better
There are a couple of things to keep in mind when you're looking for the right dog food., you want to look at the long list of ingredients. Although corn is good for humans, it doesn't do much for dogs.....
When choosing a dog food for your pet it's important to pay attention to what you're feeding them. A lot of dog foods are made chock full of fillers that have very little nutritional value for your pet. You don't want to waste your money buying food for your pet that won't give them the proper nutrition.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind when you're looking for the right dog food. First, you want to look at the long list of ingredients. Although corn is good for humans, it doesn't do much for dogs. Yet, many of different brands of dog food contain corn as the first ingredient.
Corn is used as a filler in dog food. That means that it's added only to bulk the food up and not to give your dog nutrients. The problem with these fillers is that they can actually cause your pet to eat more as the food is full of bulk but not what they need. This can lead to wasting money on extra food and even to your dog becoming overweight.
Another option is to find organic foods for your dog. You do not want to consume food that have loads of pesticides and chemicals; so why would you want that for your dog? These products are also better for the environment. There are many organic dog foods available, you just need to find them.
Honest Kitchen and Wellness Pet Food are among the top organic brand dog food. The food made from these companies are good for maintaining the health of your dog because they are made from organic products with no filler. Once your pet start using these brands, you'll definitely see a difference. Your pet will eat less food which is also saving you money.
The majority of individuals do not think much about what kind of food they are feeding their pets, beyond price. Nevertheless, purchasing healthy foods for your pet can prolong their lives and prevent expensive health concerns. It is necessary as pet owners that we give a serious consideration to the health of our pets and do what we can to make sure we care providing them with the best food feasible.
